Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because and only when, they are created by everybody.

Jane Jacobs

background

City planning is slow, expensive, non-transparent, and inaccurate for the pace of change required in cities today. inCitu accelerates city planning by crowdsourcing feedback from residents via a mobile app. Through augmented reality, the app allows for the creation a complex adaptive system that is highly efficient, accurate and participatory. inCitu allows anyone to see any project proposed for their neighborhood on site, and the potential effects it could have on them.

Challenge

The client desired a brand and website redesign to better reflect the company’s goals and perception in an effort to become investor-ready.

design approach

The client felt the current state was lacking joy and read overly technical. I tapped into her desire to reflect the “art of the possible” and presented design directions that gave equal respect to both a people centered process as well as the tech (AR). This chosen direction showcases reality combined with possibilities, in a palette that is meant to invoke excitement and engage a demographic of young people living in urban areas.
